Apollo 13, the inspiring and riveting film of a real-life space flight that gripped the nation and changed the world, was directed by Oscar winner Ron Howard and Academy Award winner Brian Grazer. Ron Howard was born into an acting family and was in his first film at 18 months (Frontier Woman, 1956), although Ron Howard's first real part was at the age of four. Some of Ron Howard's earlier, most notable acting roles was playing Opie on "The Andy Griffith Show" and Richie Cunningham in "Happy Days". Presently Ron Howard is married to his high school sweetheart (since 1975) and is enjoying a life of telling stories as one of Hollywood's top directors. Brian Grazer (the producer) was just another ingredient to making this movie a success. Brian Grazer has been making movies and television programs for more than twenty years. As both a writer and producer, Brian Grazer has been personally nominated for three Academy Awards, and in 2002 he won the Best Picture Oscar for A Beautiful Mind.
